Midlife is a mindset not an age
The midlife mindset is that pivotal moment when you sense the need to press pause, reflect on your life and envision your future.
With all your life’s experience, it's a time for embracing change and desiring something new or different.
For some it hits on their 40th birthday, for others any time from their late 20s to contemplating retirement.
Because it’s not an age thing - it’s a breaking through to the other side thing - on your terms, with your values.
The midlife mindset can be summed up as two contrasting experiences - Self-Limited and Limitless.
Which one are you?
Self-Limited
Needing change, you’re feeling stuck and unfulfilled
You’re not living the life you want to; held back by feelings of doubt and compromise
But you’re certain there’s a better life out there, and you’re ready to explore and discover what it is
Limitless
Ready for change, you’re full of energy and can-do
Having achieved the goals you set yourself earlier in life, you’re ready to establish new exciting ones
Your focus is on building something meaningful; defining and delivering a legacy that matters
Whichever you are, the goal is the same - creating a breakthrough mindset that enables you to overcome the obstacles to realising a better life.
In fact why not aim higher? For your best life!
My Breakthrough Year workshop - £600
Through this 4 hour workshop, together we will build your one-page plan for an exciting, breakthrough next 12 months.
With reflective exercises, challenging questions and creative thinking, we explore your values, accomplishments, learnings, limiting beliefs and guiding principles.
From these we create a concise and energising set of outcomes and goals that together will deliver your best year ever!
After that you can choose to take your plan home and deliver it alone or to commit to our annual coaching programme, supported by The Curve.
My Breakthrough Year annual programme - £4,740
The annual programme consists of 12 monthly, 1.5 hour coaching sessions, with longer sessions at 6, 9 and 12 months. The focus is on supporting you with defining and delivering the micro-goals that ladder up to breakthrough change.
Where there are lapses or stuckness, we will break it down together to enable you to overcome the obstacles and move forward.
There are 2 key ingredients to making breakthrough change.
Shared accountability - I will meet your 100% commitment to your goals, with my own 100% commitment. That’s a lot of energy directed at helping you achieve your breakthroughs.
Consistency - the reason for an annual programme, not a few months, is that long-lasting, effective change takes time. Time to explore, learn and practise.
Which is why the MidLife Coach includes The Curve dashboard* to keep you aligned to your vision, values and goals; through monthly scoring and commentary you’re able to track your achievements over time. Seeing not only the results of your commitment and consistency over time, but putting an ROI on your coaching investment.
In addition, all your coaching hours logged on The Curve are also certified CPD hours.
My name is Andrew Waddell and I’m The MidLife Coach.
When I turned 40, I should have felt sorted. COO of an advertising agency, very happily married, two lovely boys, good money, and a nice London house. This is the life, right?
But the bottom line - I wasn’t happy. Not even close.
I was working crazy hours, constantly stressed and, in the words of my wife, was “never present”.
My kids’ nickname for me on holiday was Angry Dad.
I felt trapped and unfulfilled, certain that there something better out there for me and my family.
And there was.
I discovered coaching, qualified as an Associate Certified Coach with the International Coaching Federation, and set up my own coaching business to help others in the midlife mindset breakthrough to a better life.
Now it’s the time for you to make a breakthrough in your life.
Do it for you. Or do it for your family. But do it now.
Praise for The MidLife Coach
“I was floundering in my career and stuck in the same patterns. Now I feel less burdened by what’s gone on before and have a new belief in my own power to control my life.”
J, TV Exec Producer
“I wanted a space to interrogate the way I approach decisions in my life. I was slightly sceptical but now have an armoury of tools to challenge the ‘truths’ which limit me.”
J, Corporate Lawyer
“I’d been getting frustrated with my job, and starting to hate what I do. I hadn’t expected the focus on my values and finding ways to work out what would make me happy.”
P, Journalist/Editor
“Life was good, but I wasn’t sure what my long term goals were. Working with Andrew was excellent; I genuinely thought it was a really helpful programme. Recommended 110%”

Facet5 Personality Profiling
-
Facet5 is a robust and insightful personality profiling tool based on the globally recognised Big 5 personality traits.
-
Our personality is the unique combination of enduring patterns of behaviour and thinking that impact how we perceive the world and the people we come in contact with.
-
The Facet5 Profile provides a snapshot of your personality against the five major elements of an individuals’ personality- Will, Energy, Affection, Control and Emotionality. These factors are then broken down into 13 sub-factors.
-
It provides a clear understanding of our strengths and the potential risks of our behaviour, and how it is perceived and affects others.
This self-awareness enables the very change that we are working towards through coaching.
-
The first step is to complete a confidential questionnaire of 106 questions (taking 20 minutes).
As an accredited Facet5 practitioner, I am able to review the comprehensive report, before taking you through your profile in a specific debrief session (1.5 hours).
Afterwards the report is yours - including the detailed profile, Facet5 family portrait, and insights into management and teamwork preferences.
-
The fees, including the cost to Facet5 for the report, review time and the debrief itself, is £695.
There is a 15% discount for clients undertaking the MidLife Coaching programme, making the fees £590.
“I was impressed by the personalisation of insight into the way I think and behave at work. Andrew really helped me think about my characteristics as a positive, as well as avoid potential risk behaviours through easy to remember techniques.”
